What Does a Bangkok Location Fixer Do?
A Bangkok Location Fixer works between the international production team and the local location.
This role can include:
- Location research
- Photo scouting
- Video scouting
- Owner communication
- Availability checks
- Filming access
- Permit coordination
- Location fees
- Parking
- Power
- Crew access
- On-set location management
The goal is not simply to find a beautiful place.
The goal is to find a location that actually works for the production.
Bangkok Location Scouting
Bangkok offers a wide variety of locations for film, video and photography.
Possible environments include:
- Modern offices
- Luxury hotels
- Rooftops
- Traditional neighborhoods
- Street markets
- Restaurants
- Cafes
- Private homes
- Villas
- Factories
- Warehouses
- Studios
- Shopping areas
- Industrial districts
Our location scouting process can be adapted to the creative brief.
Photo and Video Scouting
For international clients who cannot scout in person, we can provide:
- Reference photos
- Video walkthroughs
- Measurements
- Access notes
- Natural light information
- Sound conditions
- Power availability
- Parking information
- Restrictions
This gives the production team a more realistic understanding of the location before travel.
Location Fixing vs Location Scouting
These two services are related but different.
A location scout primarily helps find suitable options.
A location fixer goes further and helps make the location usable for the production.
That can involve:
- Negotiating access
- Confirming filming hours
- Coordinating owners
- Arranging permissions
- Managing location fees
- Planning logistics
- Supporting the shoot day
For international productions, location fixing is often more valuable than scouting alone.
Bangkok Commercial Locations
Commercial productions often need visually distinctive locations with reliable production access.
Popular requirements include:
- Luxury interiors
- Modern architecture
- Rooftops
- Hotels
- Restaurants
- Streets
- Lifestyle locations
- Industrial settings
Commercial shoots also tend to involve:
- Larger crews
- Lighting
- Grip
- Talent
- Agency
- Client representatives
That means production practicality is just as important as the visual look.
Corporate Filming Locations in Bangkok
Corporate productions often need professional, controlled environments.
Typical locations include:
- Offices
- Boardrooms
- Hotels
- Conference spaces
- Factories
- Warehouses
- Logistics centers
Our location fixer can coordinate with building management or company representatives before the shoot.
Factory and Industrial Location Fixing
Bangkok and nearby industrial areas are useful for:
- Factory videos
- Manufacturing content
- Supply chain films
- Automotive production
- Corporate documentaries
Factory shoots may require:
- Crew registration
- Equipment lists
- PPE
- Safety induction
- Restricted area approval
- Escort requirements
A location fixer can help organize these details before filming.
Bangkok Hotel and Resort Locations
Hotels are popular for:
- Travel commercials
- Corporate interviews
- Lifestyle shoots
- Branded content
- Hospitality campaigns
Hotel filming can require coordination around:
- Guest privacy
- Lobby access
- Room access
- Restaurant areas
- Pool areas
- Shooting hours
- Equipment movement
The hotel may also have restrictions on public-facing spaces.
Bangkok Street Filming
Street filming can create strong local character, but it requires careful planning.
Important considerations include:
- Pedestrian traffic
- Vehicle traffic
- Noise
- Parking
- Crew footprint
- Equipment size
- Public access
A small documentary crew may operate very differently from a large commercial production.
Bangkok Rooftop Locations
Rooftops are popular for:
- Commercials
- Interviews
- Lifestyle content
- Cityscape shots
But rooftop filming may involve:
- Safety rules
- Restricted access
- Wind
- Power limitations
- Load limits
- Filming hours
These practical details should be checked before confirming the location.
Traditional and Cultural Locations
Bangkok also offers traditional and cultural environments.
These may include:
- Historic neighborhoods
- Markets
- Traditional buildings
- Religious sites
- Cultural spaces
Some locations require more careful communication and behavioral guidelines.
A local fixer can help production teams understand what is appropriate and what may be restricted.
Private Property Filming
Private locations can often be easier to arrange than public locations.
Examples include:
- Homes
- Villas
- Offices
- Restaurants
- Warehouses
- Studios
However, the production still needs clear agreement on:
- Filming hours
- Location fee
- Crew size
- Equipment
- Damage responsibility
- Access
- Cleanup
These details should be confirmed before the shoot.
Location Fees in Bangkok
Location fees can vary significantly.
Factors include:
- Type of property
- Production size
- Filming duration
- Commercial use
- Number of crew
- Amount of equipment
- Whether the space must close for filming
A simple interview location may cost much less than a commercial location requiring exclusive access.
Bangkok Filming Permissions
Some locations may require formal permission in addition to owner approval.
The process can depend on:
- Location type
- Project type
- Crew size
- Equipment
- Commercial purpose
- Drone use
- Road filming
Our Bangkok Location Fixer can help coordinate the local side of this process.
Location Recce for Visiting Directors and Producers
For larger productions, the director, producer or DP may want to conduct an in-person recce before the shoot.
We can help arrange:
- Location schedule
- Transport
- Access
- Meetings with owners
- Technical walkthroughs
This allows the creative and production teams to make final decisions together.
Technical Location Recce
A technical recce is especially useful for commercial productions.
The crew can review:
- Camera positions
- Lighting positions
- Power
- Rigging
- Sound
- Access
- Loading
- Parking
- Safety
This reduces surprises on the shooting day.
Location Logistics
Location fixing also includes practical logistics.
This may involve:
- Crew parking
- Production vehicles
- Equipment loading
- Client holding
- Talent holding
- Makeup area
- Catering area
- Power
- Toilets
A visually strong location can still be difficult to use if these factors are ignored.
Bangkok Location Fixer for Documentary Production
Documentaries often require flexible, real-world locations.
A fixer can help with:
- Research
- Contributors
- Access
- Interviews
- Local communication
- Moving between locations
The location fixer may also help the crew understand local context.
Bangkok Location Fixer for Travel Content
Travel and tourism productions often need multiple locations in a short schedule.
These may include:
- Hotels
- Markets
- Streets
- Restaurants
- Boats
- Cultural locations
- Lifestyle environments
A local fixer can help organize the route and reduce wasted travel time.
Bangkok Location Fixer for TV Productions
TV productions may involve:
- Reality
- Travel shows
- Factual entertainment
- Lifestyle programming
- Documentary series
These projects often require quick access and flexible schedules.
A local location fixer can help manage changes on the ground.
Location Fixer for Branded Content
Branded content often combines commercial quality with documentary-style production.
This means the location needs to feel authentic while still being practical for:
- Camera
- Sound
- Lighting
- Talent
- Client
Location fixing helps balance these needs.
